The New York Giants made the following roster moves on Tuesday, Oct. 21.
Waived
- K Jude McAtamney
Free Agent Signing
- CB Korie Black
Practice Squad Addition
- DL Elijah Garcia
Released (by Club) from Practice Squad
- LB Jonas Griffith
McAtamney played in four games with the Giants this season after Graham Gano was placed on injured reserve. McAtamney made his only two field goal attempts of the season in Week 4 (long of 31 yards) but missed three extra point attempts in the past two games, including two in a 33-32 loss to the Broncos on Sunday.
Black, a seventh-round pick by the Giants this past April, returns to the team after he was waived Aug. 27. The Jets signed him to their practice squad two days later and elevated him to their gameday roster for Weeks 2 and 7. He played 15 snaps total, all on special teams.
Prior to the NFL, the No. 246 overall pick played in 62 games and made 38 starts at Oklahoma State.
Black, 6-0 and 190 pounds, played as a true freshman and sophomore and then started 38 games over his last three years. In 2023, he allowed only 16 receptions to rank third among all FBS cornerbacks with at least 350 coverage snaps.
Black was voted a season captain in his final year at Oklahoma State. He was an honorable mention All-Big 12 selection and led the Cowboys with three interceptions, which also ranked eighth in the Big 12.
Garcia, who was waived on Saturday, has played in nine games (three starts) for the Giants over the past two seasons after beginning his career with the Broncos. Griffith, also a former Bronco, had joined the practice squad last Monday.
